Slightly surprised that this was the “most memorable” of the 75 choices, but that’s just me.

It makes sense, I guess.  I also guess I should re-read this. :/

I don’t really read comic books, so I really have no right to judge this. But out of context, I totally get why they would have made this the most memorable one. I have no idea who the shooter is (I’m guessing the Joker by the makeup/my limited knowledge of the DC Universe), nor who the woman is, nor why he is shooting her, nor the significance of her being shot.
But these panels are fucking GORGEOUS. The amount of detail and thought that appears to have gone into this one page is incredible. It captures the intensity of being shot, how its so sudden, but that moment lasts for so long, and then you’re back to normal speed and there is this very dramatic finality to it.
Like I said, I don’t read comic books, but a page like this makes me want to. Its like a fucking amazing storyboard for a movie, it flows really well. So I think that this could definitely be a top x number moment in comic book history, solely based on how well this was executed artistically.
